Questions You Should Ask Your Children’s Entertainer
Do you hold insurance and working with children checks?
Children’s Entertainment is a broad category of performers that isn’t regulated by an oversight body. As such not all entertainers carry necessary checks and insurances. You want to be confident that every entertainer entering your home has a working with children’s check and public liability cover.
Adelaide Princess ensures all performers have working with children’s insurance and public liability cover. We have a network across Australia and with overseas entertainment companies to ensure that we maintain industry standards.
By maintaining these insurance coverages, we aim to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for children and their families, giving them peace of mind while engaging with our entertainment services. Safety is our top priority, and our insurance coverage reflects our commitment to creating a secure and enjoyable environment for all involved.
Are the products that your entertainers use safe for kids?
Facepaints, glitter tattoos, and makeup are all applied directly to children’s skin. These products have the potential to cause a reaction if not appropriately applied. There are currently no legislative regulations for facepainters in South Australia. However, there are industry practices and guidelines that share common good practice expectations:
It is not advisable to paint a child’s face if they are under 3. Small children often cannot sit still for long or could move without warning, which could lead to paint entering the child’s eyes or mouth (or they may scratch the paint off and put it in their mouths). Young children also have sensitive skin which is more prone to dehydration than that of older children.
Parental or guardian supervision required when painting children
Paints, crayons, inks, glitters and other cosmetic preparations must be safe and specifically designed for use on human skin.
All brushes are cleaned after every client. Disposable paper towels or wipes are used.
Reusable stencils are made from non-porous cleanable materials and wiped down with 70% isopropyl alcohol after each use
Painter washes hands between each client and cleans area to be painted before painting
Adelaide Princess takes compliance with these standards seriously. Our facepaints and glitter tattoo products are exclusively purchased from Facepaint Shop Australia which provides only reputable and tested products.
Our makeup is purchased from reputable brands and designated specifically for ‘make over’ parties. Your child’s makeup will be applied with single use applicators and brushes ensuring the best possible experience.
Do you clean your costumes and wigs after every party?
Just like any piece of working equipment proper maintenance of costumes is essential for the safety and longevity of a costume. To us, maintaining and cleaning the costume is part of our commitment to delivering a safe and high quality service.
Before each party the princess’ wig is styled and embellished with any required jewellery. The costume is steam ironed and inspected for defects.
After each party the wig is cleaned, including removal of jewellery. The dress is inspected for defects and is sanitised with a disinfectant spray. Undershirts and garments are dry cleaned. The dress is then hung up and kept safe for the next special outing!
Can the package be tailored to my child’s needs?
A sign of a good party company is flexibility and understanding that every child is unique. There are some changes that will make a party a genuinely enjoyable experience for a child - and they take barely a moment to achieve.
Adelaide Princess is delighted to offer customizable Princess Themed Birthday Party Entertainment Packages to cater to your child's specific preferences and needs.
